1-Week On-Line Registration: Postharvest Technology Short Course

The Postharvest Technology Short Course is an intensive study of technological procedures used for handling fruits, nuts, vegetables, & ornamentals in California. It is designed for research & extension workers, quality control personnel and other professionals interested in current advances in postharvest technology of horticultural crops.

Those who enroll in the course between April 19 - May 1 will be automatically in a drawing for a $500 gift certificate. Winner to be announced at the Postharvest Technology Short Course BBQ on June 18th.

1-Week Enrollment Form

The 1-Week (lecture-only) section of the Postharvest Technonlogy Short Course is limited to 25 participants. Enrollment will be handled on a first-paid, first-enrolled basis.

The 2013 1-Week (Lecture-only) Postharvest Short Course will be held June 17-21, 2013. Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17th at the UC Davis ARC Ballroom. The week will consist of lectures and labs and will be held on the campus. The last lecture will end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21st.

The 1-Week enrollment fee of $1895 includes all classroom instruction, lab activities, course materials, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, Monday through Friday lunches, and a barbeque dinner on Tuesday evening.

Registration is requested no later than May 17, 2013, and will be made on a first-paid, first-served basis. A waiting list will be available for additional registrants. Please note that refunds, less a $150 processing fee, will be granted if requested no later than May 17, 2013.

Housing and Meals. Please note that participants are responsible for their own housing (reservations and payment) during the first week of the course. Please see the Postharvest Technology Short Course Web page for additional information.

Please note that students are responsible for their own meals except those specifically noted as included with the registration fee.

Campus Bike Rental. The UC Davis campus is the largest in the entire University of California system (5,300 acres). The Bike Barn offers rental bicycles to help speed your navigation around campus.

Internet Access. Postharvest Short Course participants will be provided access to a non-secured campus guest wireless account. UC Davis procides a number of wireless access points on the campus, including the ARC where we'll be meeting the first week, as well as the Segundo Dining Commons, the Memorial Union, and Shields Library.

Parking. Daily campus parking permits cost $7/day and during the first week may be purchased at kiosks near the entrance of the parking lot.

Airport Information. The closest airport to Davis is Sacramento International (a 25 minute drive). San Francisco and Oakland International airports are about a 1.5 hour drive.
