Research Topics: Fresh-cut vegetables with focus on pre-processing aspects that affect fresh-cut quality, composition and shelf-life. These include production conditions (variety, fertilization, production area), storage (temperature, ethylene, 1-MCP, time) and stage of maturity/ripeness before processing. For specialty vegetables we also explore fresh-cut handling conditions (temperature, atmosphere, chemical and antimicrobial treatments).

Commodities: lettuces, brassicas, spinach, melons, tomatoes, peppers, Latin and Asian specialty vegetables.
