Research Topics:Current research is addressing proteins (polygalacturonase, $-galactosidase, pectinmethylesterase, PAL, LOX, lipase, expansin) contributing to softening and deterioration of fruits and lightly processed fruits. Influence of MCP on ripening and on the storage of fresh-cut fruit. Related interests include the ethylene-independent softening of MCP-treated avocado fruit and the role of gene expression in ethylene-induced water-soaking in watermelon fruit.
