Our Student Assistants

Gabrielle Turcotte, Student Assistant September 2010 - present
With amazing attention to detail, and a great ability to tackle large and complex projects, Gabrielle joined our team in September 2010, and has been a wonderful asset to our Center. She has been working hard on dozens of spreadsheets preparing for a very large upload of photos and data to an online repository. Gabrielle also did an exceptional job of converting the French and Spanish translations of our Produce Facts to the new web site.

Glen Lischeske, Student Assistant September 2010 - present
Glen also joined our Center's excellent team of student assistants in September 2010. He has assumed the role of facilitating publication orders, and is quickly learning the intracacies of both our inventory and the thrills and challenges of the various domestic and international mailing systems.

EmmaLee Branch, Student Assistant September 2010 - present
The first project that EmmaLee worked on was uploading 150 new articles to our Postharvest Publication Organized by Topics data store. She is also doing a nice job with graphic design layouts for our color Produce Facts series that we have been working on. EmmaLee has also begun training in processing the Center's publication orders.

Courtney Lorca, Student Assistant September 2008 - present
With a cheerful smile and demeanor, Courtney has willingly tackled numerous challenging projects for us since she began working for us in September 2008. One of her biggest projects was converting an tray of older slides and an audio cassette tape into digital format and then synchronizing them all into a PowerPoint presentation. She has also been working hard on our outreach database. Courtney is a very talented artist and has created a portfolio of color pencil art representations for each of our Produce Facts commodities. We will start utilizing these beautiful pieces of art in our publications in Fall 2011. In Spring 2011 Courtney was selected as one of three "UC Davis Student Assistants of the Year." We congratulate Courtney on this well deserved honor.
