In addition to individual research programs in their area of emphasis, the Postharvest Specialists participate in joint projects. Currently they are participating in leadership roles in the following interdisciplinary and multi-institutional projects.
The USDA Specialty Crops Project:
"Increasing Consumption of Specialty Crops
by Enhancing their Quality & Safety"
This project was undertaken by a postharvest research team with members at the University of California and the Universtiy of Florida.
Southern Regional Multi-State Research Project S294:
"Postharvest Quality & Safety in Fresh-Cut Vegetable & Fruits"
This project presents a multi-disciplinary approach to integration of various new technologies into the development of effective handling procedures to maintain quality and shelf stability of fresh-cut products.
